It’s pretty feckin’ chilly out there today, and a snow/ice warning is already in place until midnight tonight.

Now yet another weather alert has been issued – a Status Yellow low temperature warning for the entire country.

It’s going to be absolutely baltic from tonight until Wednesday, with temperatures dropping as low as -4 degrees Celsius.

“Extremely cold after dark and into daytime Wednesday,” said Met Eireann.

“Air temperatures will fall back to -3 or -4 degrees, coldest away from the Atlantic, and even colder over lying snow.”

The warning will officially kick in at 4pm today and last until 4am tomorrow morning.

Snow showers will be likely across the country, most frequent in the west and north, with some accumulations.

Forecasters have warned drivers and pedestrians to be wary of icy roads and paths.
