24 People Arrested In Kilkenny As Part Of Crime Crackdown

A major Garda operation yesterday saw 24 people arrested as part of Operation Thor – Project Storm, which focuses on preventing and detecting a large number of crimes in one area.

The Irish Mirror reports that dozens of officers, including trainee Gardai, were out at 23 checkpoints in the Thomastown area of Kilkenny to monitor the activities of local criminals.

A further 13 premises were searched as part of Gardai investigations into recent burglaries, robberies and the sale and supply of controlled drugs.

Four people were arrested on warrant, and 20 on a wide range of offences including theft, assault, fraud, burglary.
