A man has been shot this afternoon, around 3pm, on the southside of Limerick city.
A man in his late 20s has been arrested by Gardaí in Roxboro Road in connection with the incident.
The injured man, who is in his mid-30s, was brought to University Hospital Limerick, where his injuries are said to be serious.
The incident occurred at a halting site at Conglong, according to The Journal.
Gardaí are investigating if a burnt out Suzuki which was found nearby, was involved in the incident.
The arrested man is currently being detained by Gardaí and a technical examination of the scene is now underway.
