An Orange Weather Warning Has Just Been Issued For These Five Counties

Storm Eleanor has arrived in Ireland and is set to reach its peak between 4pm and 9pm today. 

Met Eireann has already issued several weather warnings, but its latest one focuses on Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Kerry. 

Sent out at 2pm, the level orange alert warns of “westerly winds of mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h. with gusts of 110 to 130km/h expected at times overnight and into Wednesday mainly in coastal fringes and on high ground.”

It is in place from 10pm tonight until 2pm tomorrow. 

A wind warning also applies for the whole of Munster, Leinster and South Galway from 4pm to 9pm.
