A young Waterford man who was missing from the Netherlands since early June has been found safe and well.
He was last seen in Maastricht on the 9th of June.
His family started an online appeal and travelled to the Netherlands in early July to search for him.
The 20-year-old, who is from Waterford city, presented himself to the Irish embassy in Berlin earlier today.
He had moved to the Netherlands 18 months ago with friends.
Speaking to Liveline, his father Micheal said he was "thrilled, delighted and excited."
“Literally just a half an hour ago we got a call from the German embassy.
“We were speaking to a lady who has helped us out a lot over here…she let us know that John had walked into the embassy.
“At this stage what we know is that John had met up with some friends and did a tour of Europe.
“He has been down around Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Germany. When he was passing in Berlin his rucksack had been stolen.”
Personal items that were stolen included his passport, iPhone and iMac.
Thankfully, he is safe and well.
