It’s Official – Swearing Has Now Been Proven To Make You More Fit

There’s no better way to enhance your language than throwing an swear word in there for effect.

In Ireland, we love our f-ing and blinding and luckily for us, experts have now proven that swearing can actually be good for you. 

Hallelujah!

According to The Guardian, new study conducted by the University of Keele in Straffordshire has shown that letting rip with some choice language can have a positive impact on your exercise regime.

The research saw cyclists swearing and cursing before engaging in a tough physical session.

These results were compared with those of people who didn’t swear and, lo and behold, those who swore saw improvements in their performance.

The scientists discovered that the top performance was increased by 24 watts because of swearing. 

Why?

It’s thought that swearing increases the heart’s link to your emotional response, making it work harder. 

You know, like when you hit you hip off the edge of the table and you just scream “fuuuuuuck”. Kind of like that. 

Well, it’s not like we needed an excuse…
