Last year, it was announced by EU Officials that a new €50 note would be coming into circulation in 2017.
April 4 is the lucky day for the new banknote, with the new €50 being introduced in the EU by the European Central Bank.
The new series of euro banknotes is known as the Europe series, and when held against the light, it reveals a portrait of Europa, a figure from Greek mythology.
And they look a little like this…

The banknote contains brand new security features, making it difficult to copy.
Features like raised embossing along the edges and the centre, a crisper feel and a number of translucent security features play their part in this.
According to CNN Money, the new note also includes a secret window – a new and innovative feature, first used on the Europa series €20. The front side of the banknote also features a shiny number that changes colour from green to blue when tilted.
For the time being, €50 banknotes are still acting as legal tender.
