Here’s How Cold It Has To Be For You To Get To Leave Work

It’s going to be pretty cold this week with temperatures hitting as low as -2 degrees in parts of Ireland.

With winter well and truly setting in, you’ll be glad to hear that there is actually a minimum temperature that your workplace has to be.

If your office is too chilly, you could be legally entitled to leave.

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 deal with the issue of temperatures in the workplace.

For sedentary office work, the minimum legal temperature is 17.5C and it has to be maintained at every workstation after the first hour’s work, according to Mondaq.com.

Unfortunately for those of us who slave away in saunas, there is no law in place regarding maximum temperatures in the workplace.
