Here’s How You Can Donate To Kym Owens’ Recovery Fund

Alana Laverty

18-year-old Kym Owens was violently attacked after departing a bus in Maynooth as she made her way home just over a week ago.

She remains unconscious in hospital, in a stable but serious condition.

A local committee have set up a donation page to help with the significant costs that will be involved in Kym’s recovery.

The gofundme description reads:

“Kym Owens, 18, from Castleblayney, was found unconscious on a footpath in the Moyglare Abbey estate in Maynooth, County Kildare after a terribly brutal assault. She is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.  We are a local committee formed to raise funds to aid Kym’s long road to recovery and we are keeping close contact with her family.  We know we speak for everyone in Castleblayney when we say our thoughts and prayers are with Kym and her family, but we want to reach out to the entire nation in our appeal, as we know this has touched the hearts of every being.  So let’s strengthen our network of support.  Please donate and share this with all of your friends and contacts. We greatly appreciate each and every cent/pound or dollar and we can not thank you enough.”

So far €865 of the €3,000 goal has been raised.

Kym sustained serious and life-threatening injuries with multiple fractures to her head, neck, eye sockets, nose and jaw. She also lost a number of teeth in the horrifying attack.
