Katie Taylor’s fledgling professional boxing career continues in earnest tonight as she takes to the ring with the WBA Lightweight title in her sights.
Fresh off the back of Ireland’s historic victory over Wales in Cardiff a few weeks back, Bray’s favourite daughter will come up against Anahi Esther Sanchez from Argentina in the Welsh capital. Sanchez failed to make the 9st 9lb weight limit yesterday meaning she will not retain her crown if she wins but if Katie emerges victorious she will bring the belt home to Ireland.
The fight is expected to get underway at 7pm but as is always the case, the time will depend on how other fights on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Carlos Takam progress.
