Someone in Ireland is waking up to the news that they’re a brand new millionaire following last night’s Irish Lotto draw.
It didn’t come in the main draw, which was worth €2.4m but the numbers in that were: 1, 5, 6, 12, 22, 46, and the bonus number was 33.
The millionaire came from the Lotto Plus One Draw with the player scooping the jackpot of €1m.
The winning numbers in that were 15, 23, 25, 29, 30, 31, and the bonus number was 32.
The county has not been specified as of yet but the winning ticket was sold in the south.
This comes after someone in Cork scooped the same prize last weekend.
The golden Quick Pick ticket was sold in Costcutters at the N20 Mallow Plaza on the Limerick Road, Mallow, Co. Cork.
The Cork person was the second winner of the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of one million euros since Lotto and Lotto Plus game enhancements were introduced on September 1st.
The delighted manager of the Costcutters store that sold last night’s Lotto Plus 1 winning ticket, Michael Griffin, said today: “It was a great call to get from the National Lottery today to let me know we had sold a ticket creating a millionaire! I’m delighted for whoever it is. We are in the N20 Mallow plaza so, a place with a lot of footfall and passing trade, so the winner could be anyone. However, it would be fantastic if it was one of our local and regular customers. We are encouraging all our customers to check their tickets carefully this morning. There is a great buzz about the place”.
National Lottery CEO, Dermot Griffin said today: “We’re delighted to have our second winner of the new Lotto Plus game. This was the reason we made enhancements – to create more millionaires and more winners and we saw that with last night’s draw with our €1 million winner in Cork and our Match 5 Plus Bonus in Co. Dublin.”
He added: “I encourage all of our Cork players, or even if you regularly play Lotto at the Costcutter in the N20 Mallow Plaza, to check their tickets to see if they are Ireland’s newest millionaire. Also if you play Lotto in the Killiney Shopping Centre in Dublin you could be €134,029 richer so please check those tickets carefully. If you are one of these lucky ticketholders, be sure to sign the back of the ticket and contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 01 836 4444 and we’ll make arrangements with you to come to the Winner’s Room in Dublin and collect your prize”.
