Irish People Will Be Able To Renew Their Passports Online From Thursday

This is great news.

From this Thursday, Irish adults will be able to renew their passports online rather than the previous rigmarole of going down the Garda station, getting everything stamped and posting it all off.

Thank Christ, says you.

The Online Passport Application Service (OPAS) will be available on the Department Of Foreign Affairs website but will only be available for the renewal of adults' passports. This means that children and first-time applicants will still have to use the old method.

This should make life a lot easier but won't change the fact that your mam will still ask "is your passport up to date?" every time you're heading away.
