An Irish YouTuber from Athlone has made it onto the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid YouTube stars for 2018.
Seán McLoughlin from Athlone, better known as JackSepticEye, has made his fortune as a YouTube gamer with almost 21 million subscribers and over 10 billion video views to his name.
The 28-year-old made it to number 8 on the Forbes ‘Highest-Paid YouTube Stars 2018’ list, estimating his wealth to be $16 million (around €14 million) for the year from June 1, 2017 to June 1, 2018.
They wrote, ‘Foulmouthed, energetic Seán McLoughlin is the most popular YouTuber in Ireland thanks to his colourful video-game commentary.
‘A few bad words haven’t kept him from going mainstream: He did a series for Disney and is developing exclusive content for live-streaming platform Twitch.’
Seán beat the hugely controversial YouTuber Logan Paul as well as the site’s most-followed user Felix Kjellberg aka PewDiePie to his number eight spot.
Coming in at number one is seven-year-old Ryan ToysReview who’s said to be worth a whopping $22 million (€19 million) and has 17 million followers.
