It looks like it’s just wet and windy weather on the agenda for the foreseeable future

James Fenton

It’s hard to recall a more miserable start to a week than the one we’re all experiencing on this dull, dark and damp Monday.

Well, you’ll be pleased to know that things aren’t going to get much better, with the word “blustery” being used a bit too much for our liking in Met Éireann’s weekly forecast. The experts are predicting a wet and windy week ahead, with the worst of the weather set to arrive on Thursday when it will be ‘mild and blustery or windy with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees and fresh, gusty south to southeast winds, strong in some coastal areas’.

From then on, it will be mild and blustery for the most part, with Friday seeing ‘highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees with fresh, gusty south or southwest winds, strong in some coastal areas’.

Saturday and Sunday will ‘both be fresh and breezy days with sunshine and showers and highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees with moderate westerly breezes.’

The forecast for the early part of next week suggests that it will be ‘cool and unsettled with spells of rain or showers’ so basically, autumn is kicking in and we’ve hardly had a summer at all.

Hey, we’re just the messenger and you can view Met Éireann’s forecast in greater detail here.
