It looks like the rainy weather is going to last for a number of days

If you’re hoping today’s downpours are temporary then you might be disappointed.

Ireland woke up today to weather warnings all over the place and the experts’ forecasts certainly came true as rain poured throughout the afternoon. If you’re hoping that it’s just a 24-hour spell of bad weather well, we’ve got some bad news, courtesy of Met Éireann’s forecast.

It looks like there will be some level of heavy rainfall every day until Thursday at least and next weekend is expected to be ‘cool and showery.’ Before that, there will be widespread heavy showers on Tuesday but these will ease on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Wednesday night has the ‘potential for wet and windy conditions’ which could persist into Thursday so if you’re still working from home you probably won’t mind not heading out too much this week.
