Justice for Gingers – The Redhead Emoji Is Finally Coming

After a long campaign for ginger equality, a redhead emoji has finally been announced. 

In fact, 12 redheads with different skin tones will be arriving on smartphones by the end of this year. 

The 157 new emoji additions will also include curly hair, baldness, and white hair as well as superheroes, a bagel, a mosquito and various other objects. 

A mango has also been added following a campaign by the Australian mango industry. 

Editor of redhead-focused website Ginger Parrot, Emma Kelly, told The Telegraph:

“We may only be a small percentage of the world at less than 2 per cent, but that doesn’t mean we don’t matter. Having redhead emojis on iPhones will mean that we can all feel included, which is what the intention of the diversified emojis should have been.”
