Make sure you wrap up incredibly warm if you’re heading out this weekend because we’re set to have some freezing cold nights across the country.
Tonight will start off at a chilly 0°C before dropping even lower as the weekend continues.
As well as that, there’s a status yellow rainfall warning in place for both Waterford and Cork until 2am on Saturday.
Mostly cloudy across the S half of the country w/ scattered outbreaks of showery rain, heavy & persistent at times acr. S coastal counties, w/ the risk of spot flooding & local thunder. Mainly dry acr. the N half of the country though, w/ bright or sunny spells. Highs 6 to 10°C. pic.twitter.com/wXylMd2S83

A Met Éireann forecaster said, “Scattered outbreaks of rain early tonight will soon become confined to the southwest, with a few showers possible in the east later.
“Otherwise a lot of dry weather with mist or fog patches, and patchy frost developing where skies stay clear.
“Lowest temperatures 0°C to 6°C, coldest away from southern counties. Northeast breezes will be mostly light overland.”
Saturday will increase to 10°C in some parts but there’s another few icy cold nights in store after that, with both Saturday and Sunday night dropping as low as -2°C.
Sunday will be another cold day, staying between 6°C and 10°C but thankfully will stay mostly dry, before dropping again to somewhere between -2°C and +2°C that night.
