Met Éireann issues nationwide five-day advisory with ‘increasingly wintry conditions’ on the way

Met Éireann has issued a five-day weather advisory for the whole country, with temperatures set to plummet to as low as minus four degrees.

The advisory was issued today at 2pm and will be valid from midnight on Wednesday until 11.59pm on Sunday. It says that the weather will be ‘turning colder from Wednesday with weather conditions becoming increasingly wintry for the rest of the week.’

It is added that there will be a ‘risk of frost and icy conditions, with falls of sleet or snow at times.’

In Met Éireann’s forecast, it is stated that temperatures are expected to drop to minus two degrees on Wednesday and minus four degrees on Friday. It will ‘remain cold over the weekend with sunny spells and scattered showers with wintry falls. Highest temperatures ranging from two to six degrees. Widespread frost both nights with temperatures dropping to minus four degrees in places.’
