After 15 odd years as a brand and 750,000 customers - it has been announced that Meteor Mobile will retire as a brand come September.
All existing customers will be moving across to the Eir Mobile parent brand from September onwards.
A whole generation of younger customers (and students especially) have grown up with Meteor and their prepaid offerings and with those customers maturing the rebrand to Eir will allow them access broadband, TV and the other offerings the company has.
The brand was known for it's quirky advertising over the years and sponsorships of events like the Music awards.
Customers will start to be alerted about the changeover from today onwards.
