While there was no winner of Saturday’s whopping €4.8 million Lotto jackpot, the luck of the Irish was still felt as some lucky Galwegian scooped a winning Lotto Plus 1 ticket worth €500,000.

According to reports, the ticket was sold in County Galway, in the parish of Rahoon.

Residents of the area or those who've been in the area in recent times are today being urged to check tickets following Saturday night’s Lotto draw.

The lucky ticket was purchased on Friday at Henchey’s Daybreak Store in the village of Rahoon, just outside Galway City.

Do you know anyone who might've had a lucky day?
