Scientists Say They May Have Found The Cure For Baldness

AmyBell

As we get older there is the growing worry about losing your luscious locks, particularly among men.

While some lads rock the bald look, others are less enthused… but may be interested in this news.

The Korea Times have reported that scientists in South Korea have come up with a chemical that has shown to decrease hair loss in mice.

The team led by Choi Kang-yeol of Yonsei University have discovered that substance, CXXC-tyle zinc finger protein 5, disrupts a process within cells which controls the development of hair follicles and the healing of wounds.

The South Korean scientists have now stumbled upon a chemical, PTD-DBM that will prevent CXXC from taking hold.

When it was tested on mice over 28 days, it did produce the growth of new follicles and the findings were published in the Journal Of Investigative Dermatology.

The researchers said, “Disrupting the CXXC5-Dishevelled interaction with a competitor peptide activated the Wnt pathway and accelerated hair regrowth and wound-induced hair follicle neogenesis”.

So there you have it – a cure for baldness could be coming soon.
