Dieters who’ve started on the Slimming World programme have been given a right old shock as the brand announces that foods previously marked as ‘syn-free’ no longer count as such.
Slimming World has stated on their website that they took “a closer look at the ever-growing range of pasta and noodle snack pots and sachets” and have found them to be unsatisfying for dieters.
“These extra checks have highlighted that these products are not as bulky, filling or satisfying as we thought (in fact the amount of pasta and noodles in some of them is really very low).
As a result some foods that were previously Free now have a small Syn value ranging from ½ Syn to 3 Syns.
Products including Batchelors Pasta n Sauce and the popular instant Mug Shots have been ousted as part of the syn-free section of the plan after being found to be unfulfilling for dieters wanting to make a long-term change to their lives – something Slimming World as a brand claim to stand for.
The Slimming World plan is designed to help members lose up to a couple of pounds weekly, and the company states that dried pasta and noodles are still considered ‘free foods’.
