PJ and Maureen Heffernan have just buckled in for the trip of a lifetime.
Travelling from the humble hills of Connemara all the way to Yokohama in Japan for the Rugby World Cup, the duo has chosen to forgo traditional modes of transport and are instead driving the 10,000 km.

The couple, who left Clifden on Monday morning, aim to arrive in time for Ireland’s first game against Scotland on September 22. Two years of planning have gone into the journey though, so they’re sure to be well prepared. All for the love of the game and the boys in green.
