Thanks Ed – Hotel Prices Have Shot Up Because Of Sheeran’s New Gigs

clodagh

Ed Sheeran announced yesterday a string of about a million Irish dates, and, as expected, people went crazy.

He is set to play several dates in Dublin, Cork and Belfast next summer, which is set to make Galway Girl play on every radio station non-stop.

Hotels in the cities are already expecting big crowds and have increased their prices on the gig dates, according to the Irish Examiner.

They have been accused of increasing their room prices up to 200% – 400%.

The Burlington Hotel in Dublin’s single room rate went from €199 on an ordinary day to €399 the day Sheeran plays.

Down in Cork, something similar happened. Rochestown Park Hotel’s single room rate went from less than a hundred euro to approximately €350 the day Sheeran plays in Cork.

So if you’re planning on staying in a hotel for one of the gigs, you might want to think again.
