Irish people love their insults, and gobshite has to be up there with the best of them. 

That's why we were so proud when we saw it appeared on Countdown yesterday. 

Susie Dent was the one to read out the word to the audience, defining it as a "stupid, foolish or incompetent person". 

The word was censored on TV and presenter Nick Hewer seemed shocked when she said it - but he wasn't half so offended when Myleene Klaas used it in 2005. 

Hmm...
