There’s A Very Unusual Event Taking Place In Newgrange On Saturday Morning

Sarah

While to some people (*cough cough ME*), the weekend might signal a welcome excuse to sleep in until 11am and have brekkie in bed, we do get the whole ethos of making the most of your free time.

So y’know, waking up early can be pretty beneficial.

Especially when waking up early involves experiencing a cultural sing-song at one of Ireland’s most mystical and historical monuments, which is exactly what’s gonna be going down at Newgrange this Saturday.

As part of Heritage Week (which will see a heap of deadly events take place all over the country), a ‘Ditch The Duvet Dawn Chorus’ will take place at the Meath monument at 7.30am.

An “open call to all songbirds”, you’re welcomed to join in with outdoor singsong, celebrating the sun, the monuments, and the landscape in an event which will either leave you feeling at one with your soul for the entire weekend or sleepy AF.

Worth the try though, right? P.S There’s coffee available afterward, so you can look forward to that.
