They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day but amid the morning rush we often tend to skip it.
Well this one side effect may make you want to eat something in the morning, because not eating breakfast can lead to bad breath.
According to The Daily Mail, if you don’t eat first thing in the morning it can leave odour-causing bacteria to linger in your mouth.
Dr Mervyn Druian of the London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry spoke out about the nasty side effect and how by eating, we can prevent the bad smell.
He said, “Skipping breakfast is one of the worst dirty habits for bad breath as it leaves the morning mouth dry allowing bacteria to linger.”
If you’re thinking a quick cereal bar will do, it doesn’t – because the sugar allows even more room for bacteria to grow. Yuck!
Dr Druian continued: “However, choosing something quick like a cereal bar can supply the mouth with sugar creating an even greater environment for bacteria to grow.”
If you make time to eat a piece of fruit and have some water at least, it will help to ‘flush the bacteria away’.
