katedemolder

Met Éireann have issued three status yellow wind warnings for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo in the wake of Storm Ewan.

These alerts are set to run from 5am on Tuesday morning to 1pm Tuesday lunchtime.

According to the Irish meteorological site, ‘fresh to strong northwesterly winds’ will reach speeds of up to 50 – 65km/h with gusts of up to 90 – 110km/h.

Today will also feel bitterly cold due to aforementioned winds with some rain and chances of snow early on in the day. These, however, will pass as the day goes on.

And as for tonight?

According to Met Éireann:

The strong winds will ease later this evening and the first half of the night will be clear and frosty. Most of the frost will clear later in the night as cloud increases and rain spreads across Munster. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees.

Temperatures are set to range from 6-8 degrees, but due to strong winds, it will feel far colder.

The winds will then ease overnight, paving the way for frost early on.
