eight foot tall pencils outside Carroll's pub in Galway

You couldn’t write it lads.

Cúirt International Festival of Literature have said that two eight-foot-tall pencils were stolen in Galway City last night.

The decorative pencils were lifted from outside Carroll’s Bar on Dominick Street last night. Particularly upsetting as you know once someone borrows one, you’re never getting it back.

In a post on Instagram, Cúirt Festival wrote:

In a shocking turn of events, a Cúirt Pencil was stolen from Carroll’s Bar Dominick Street last night.

They added that they’ll offer a reward of a free drink for the return of the pencil, and also mentioned that they have the lead bandit on camera.

Carroll’s Dominic Street, the scene of the crime added:

WE HAVE A CRIMINAL ON OUR HANDS. Bring back the pencil and no one gets hurt.

RTÉ News say Gardaí are on the case to retrieve the missing writing equipment but in a search like this, it’s hard to know where to draw the line.

Galwegians, keep your eyes peeled for these eight-foot tall pinn luaidhe. We couldn’t bear the thought of this search being pointless.
