If you've been unlucky enough to pop your head outside of the duvet this morning then you'll know that it's fierce soaking out there.
Bad news we're afraid, is that it's not going anywhere - and looks like it's going to get ever worse.
Met Eireann have issued a weather warning of heavy rain or thundery showers for Cork and Kerry, and other counties across Ireland will see very heavy and possibly thundery showers developing too, merging to longer spells of rain locally, with the risk of hail. Spot flooding is possible until later this evening.
As for the weekend (which is so close we can almost taste the freedom)?
" Very unsettled for the rest of the week with some heavy rain or showers at times." Oh.
Friday and Saturday will see wet and blustery conditions with a strong and gusty southwest wind.
Don't go packing away the raincoat and brollies just yet...
