When will the revised Living with Covid plan be announced? Everything you need to know

James Fenton

It’s all eyes on Leinster House again this week as the Government prepares to release details of its revised Living with Covid plan.

The new Living with Covid strategy is expected to include details of a phased reopening of schools (expected to begin on March 5), as well as updates on the 5km exercise limit, household visits and a timeline of the reopening of the construction, hospitality, retail industries and more.

Over the weekend, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin suggested that he doesn’t expect hospitality to reopen until mid-summer, leading to a lot of negative feedback online. Many will hope that the new Living with Covid announcement will allow for a clearer outlook on the reopening of industries.

When is the Living with Covid announcement?

The Cabinet sub committee is meeting today this evening to go over the finer points of the strategy. Some details may emerge throughout Monday evening before a full Cabinet meeting on Tuesday morning. A formal announcement on the Living with Covid plan should take place some time on Tuesday afternoon, broadcast live on RTÉ, Virgin Media and the all the usual online accounts.

Current Level 5 restrictions are due to expire on Friday, March 5.
