After a decent festive season weather-wise, Met Éireann is predicting a significant drop in temperatures for the remainder of this week. Lows of minus one are expected on both Thursday and Friday night with frost expected to form on most mornings.
Things are expected to pick up again by the weekend with top temperatures of five to nine degrees on Saturday along with some light drizzle.
Early indications suggest that the early part of next week will see drier than normal conditions but rain is likely in the north and northwest.
