A poll by Claire Byrne Live / Amarách Research Panel has revealed that people are not impressed by how our TDs dress.
The poll revealed that 73% of people want to see a dress code enforced in the Dáil. 22% disagree with the idea entirely and think TDs should be free to wear what they please, while 5% say they are undecided.
The issue was raised after a group of TDs wore Repeal jumpers into the Dáil chamber last month.
And Dáil rules actually state that members should dress “in a manner that reflects the dignity of the House”.
