Each week we'll be sharing with you some of my favourite cocktail recipes. You don't have to get dolled up to the nines to have a stunning cocktail - you can make them in your trackie bottoms, right in the comfort of your own home.
This cocktail is made from smooth and full bodied aged rum Bacardí Añejo Cuatro and is mixed with Schweppes 1783 Golden Ginger Ale. A fresh lime wedge and mint sprig completes this twist on a Caribbean favourite.
It's a little something different from your usual G&T or vodka and white - a nice lil spice up.
It can be so easy to make the same cocktail at home over and over again. Thing is, you probably have all the ingredients for something more adventurous sitting in your gaff just waiting to be turned into something fabulous.
Bacardi Añejo Cuatro is a premium rum that takes four years to mature in a barrel. The barrels rest under the Caribbean sun which creates its unique summery flavour.
In the rum, you'll taste notes of mild vanilla, toasted oak, clove and honey.
This cocktail is super easy to make, it's stress-free and delicious.
So why not give it a go?
Here's everything you need:
• 50ml Bacardí Añejo Cuatro rum
• 200ml Schweppes 1783 Golden Ginger Ale
Garnish: lime wedge and mint sprig
Take a highball glass and fill to the top with ice, add the Bacardí Añejo Cuatro rum and mix with Schweppes 1783 Golden Ginger Ale.
To garnish: cut two wedges of lime. Squeeze the first into the glass, drop the second inside the glass. Gently tap the sprig of mint on the back of your hand before decorating, this warms it up slightly and starts to extract the oils before use.
