Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

Tis the season to singing The Fairytale Of New York until the early hours.

Whether you’re waiting under the mistletoe, pulling Christmas crackers, munching on cocktail sausages or admiring the twinkling lights on the tree – a homemade cocktail would be the ideal treat to pair with this fab evening of festivities.

Welcome to The 12 Twists Of Christmas with Schweppes!

This is the ultimate cocktail guide for the festive season. We’ll be sharing some of our favourite mixes that are super handy to make and made from ingredients that you’ll typically find around the house, or you’ll easily pick up in the siopa.

This week, if you haven’t guessed by my stunning intro already, we’ll be showing you how to make a fab cocktail called Mistletoe Mischief.

Misletoe Mischief is a gin based cocktail mixed with Schweppes 1783 Light Tonic Water, zesty lemon and mint.

This cocktail is made from the wonderfully Irish, Ha’Penny Gin. The gin was created to capture the flavours, the stories and the charm of Dublin. The company stocks gin, rhubarb gin and Irish whiskey. Today we’ll be going with the OG – the gin.

Ha’Penny Gin was created by a team of craft enthusiasts from the Pearse Lyons Distillery, who were inspired by the iconic Ha’Penny Bridge which is recognised throughout the world as a symbol of the charming and charismatic city of Dublin. The Dublin Dry Gin is a small-batch, pot distilled spirit that uses locally inspired botanicals.

You’ll find it in the Celtic Whiskey Shop, Donnybrook Fair, Dunnes Stores, L Mulligan Whiskey Shop, Tesco, Wine Wells and in gin joints and restaurants across the country.

Here’s everything you need to make this wonderful drink:

Ingredients

Surprise your friends and family with some festive drinks.
