Katie Taylor continues to solidify her reputation as one of this country’s most beloved sportspeople of all time.
On Tuesday evening, Katie Taylor shared a clip to her social media of a young super-fan’s adorable reaction to opening a very special gift on Christmas morning.
Initially, young Lexie Starbuck had no idea what she was holding in her hands but it wasn’t long before she was fighting back tears, when her dad let her know that her favourite fighter had signed a pair of boxing gloves for her.
“Quick shout out to Lexie Starbuck,” Taylor wrote on Twitter. “Thank you so much for all your support. Keep lacing up those gloves!”

The two-weight world champion from Bray has a reputation for kind-hearted gestures.
Less than two months ago, Taylor appeared on The Late Late Toy Show and made another girl’s day by surprising her with a gift of the gloves she’d worn in her most recent victory as well as a promise of a personal training session.
Taylor kept that promise before Christmas and put Ella Thompson through her paces in the ring.

Taylor, who has amassed a perfect record of 15-0 since her 2016 decision to turn professional, is set for a big 2020 by all accounts.
While she has already unified the lightweight division and enjoyed a successful trip up to junior-welterweight, Taylor doesn’t intend to rest on her laurels and is reportedly gearing up for a huge fight with Amanda Serrano.
Taylor has already beaten Amanda’s sister, Cindy, in the ring and such is the interest of a bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, it’s being tipped to become the first-ever female-headlined card at Madison Square Garden.
While a deal has yet to be done for that fight, it’s rumoured that April is being targeted for the contest.
