Irish businesswoman brings London’s ‘best-kept secret’ to home turf

“The PA to the PA” has just launched in Ireland

Anyone who has ever worked in a big corporation can attest to the sometimes extravagant and detailed demands made upon personal assistants and office managers. Seemingly impossible bookings are expected to appear in calendars, and much-sought-after tickets into inboxes at little to no notice.

That’s where Miss Jones comes in, founded by Irishwoman Lisa Boissel. Who describes the business as “the PA to the PA”, Miss Jones is aimed at personal assistants and office managers whose job it is to organise events for their respective companies.

With over 20,000 members in the UK, Boissel said that an increased level of requests from Irish-based multinationals prompted the former event planner to expand the business across the water.

Filling a gaping hole in the corporate operational machine, Miss Jones acts as an event organiser for staff and client hospitality. Booking venues and suppliers on behalf of companies, alongside organising corporate hospitality, team-building workshops and retreats.

The remit of Miss Jones also covers sometimes nigh on impossible corporate requests, with Boissel citing last-minute Wimbledon and formula 1 tickets as a most recent example.

“From organising large and complex events to the booking of constant client dinners, event management is a huge part of a PA’s job, which frankly most did not expect nor are prepared for,” Boissel said at the recent Irish launch, “pressures such as perfecting all minute details of a successful event, to having to constantly know of the trendiest new bar and restaurant openings – we’re constantly told how it’s all too much for most PA’s and not technically pat of their job description. This is where Miss Jones steps in.”

“Our member PA’s can outsource all event elements to us; from finding the ideal venue to perfecting all of the finer details, from food to décor. Plus we manage all negotiations, saving each PA countless time,” she added.

Miss Jones acts as a form of a club for its members, providing a personalised concierge service to them alongside hosting events in some of the venues they themselves would be ordinarily booking for corporate members.

Boissel partnered with founder of Ireland’s ‘Executive PA Forum’ Fiona Kelly to launch in Ireland and has already linked up The Shelbourne, The Merrion Hotel and Brown Thomas.

Membership to Miss Jones operates as an annual subscription, for more information visit the website.
