PICS: This Super Cosy Pub In Galway Is The Only Place To Be Right Now

Sarah

Look outside and we bet you what you’re looking at right now is the exact same as us: lashin’ down rain and grim grey skies.

Ugggghh boy is it grim out there, hmm?

So when we saw this seriously cute pub in Galway we’re almost tempted to hop on a bus and drive down here straight away…

John Keogh’s The Lockkeeper in Galway city has a roaring turf fire, hot port and cosy snugs.

It’s also won Best Pub Food and Best Customer Service in Connacht at this year’s Irish Pub Awards and is one of three winners in The National Hospitality Awards 2017 in the Best Gastro Pub category… We can see why.

With food dishes like wild Irish game venison loin cooked to order with red cabbage purée and celeriac which has been oven baked in salt and served of course with a deep bodied French red merlot, this is a definite way to warm up in the west.

Who wants to bring us here for a hot whiskey ASAP?
