The Wild Atlantic Way Wins Prestigious Chinese Tourism Award

We always knew of its beauty and now it appears the Wild Atlantic Way is gaining some well-deserved international recognition. As far away as China no less.

The WAW has been named ‘Best International Self-Drive Route’ at an awards ceremony organised by HuiZuChe, a car rental portal. Considering it was up against such glamorous routes like Sweden, Malaysia, Tasmania, California and Florida it really is quite a feat. 

James Kenny, Tourism Ireland’s manager in China, had this to say while accepting the award: 

“Chinese travellers have so much choice nowadays, which makes it more important than ever for us to ensure that the island of Ireland really stands out from other destinations – so this award is really good news as we roll out our busy promotional drive for 2017.”
