Two Irish men has claimed a new record after climbing 26 of the country’s highest peaks in just over 60 hours.

Shaun Stewart from Donegal and Lonan O’Farrell from Galway scaled mountains in every county in Ireland in a record time of 60 hours and 31 seconds.

According to Donegal Daily, the pair began their mammoth challenge at Mweelrea Mountain in Co. Mayo and worked their way across the country before finishing at the peak of Errigal in Donegal on Saturday.

Stewart told the site that the duo had only four hours of sleep over the course of the challenge, which raised funds for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children and the Play Therapy Centre at Lakeview School in Galway.
