The wait is over and Ireland’s World Cup play-off against Denmark in Copenhagen is underway.
Before kick-off, the Danes took the unusual step of setting off fireworks before the game rather than after. While clearly just done to generate some atmosphere, it seems the pyrotechnics gave our big, burly centre-back Shane Duffy a bit of a fright.
