Imelda Staunton gives us an update on The Crown Season Five

Katy Thornton

She’s giving off serious Queen Lizzie vibes already

We have a date for The Crown season five and unfortunately, there’s going to be a bit of a wait. Imelda Staunton, who is the third actress to play Queen Elizabeth II, addresses us from the set of The Crown to give an important message. She tells us that they have just begun filming for the show’s fifth and penultimate season.

Staunton nods to her predecessors, Olivia Colman and Claire Foy for their previous performances as Queen Elizabeth. At the end of the video, Staunton reveals season five of The Crown will air in November 2022. This leaves us with a 14 month wait for new episodes. While we’re disappointed that it will be another year before its release, we cannot wait to see how the show deals with The Royal Family in the 90s.

And if you just can’t get enough of all things royal family, there’s always the Diana musical and the upcoming movie Spencer to tide you over.
