The Late Late line-up is here it’s a treat for Irish rugby fans

James Fenton

The Late Late Show has revealed its Friday night line-up and former Ireland rugby head coach Joe Schmidt will be among the guests.

Joe Schmidt is used to taking a seat at the Aviva Stadium during Six Nations weekends but this Friday, he’ll be pulling up a chair to chat to Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show instead. Schmidt will be speaking from his home in New Zealand about Ireland’s Six Natons prospects following their defeat to Wales last week and will also give an insight into what it’s like living in a country that has adopted a ‘Zero Covid’ approach.

Also on the show will be Katie Price, who will talk about the needs of her son Harvey after he turned 18 last year, while online comedian Sir Stevo Timothy will talk about a harrowing life-changing event and how he reassessed his life after it.

First Dates Ireland returns tonight (or last night if you’re reading this on Friday) and Ryan will be chatting to four of its participants on the subject of finding love during a pandemic. You can check out a teaser for the first episode here.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris will also be on the show to talk about policing the pandemic and all of the restrictions that come with it. Finally, music will be provided by Sorcha Richardson, who will be in studio for a performance of her single, Don’t Talk About It.

You can catch all of this when the Late Late Show airs at the usual time and place of 9.35pm on RTÉ One on Friday.
