The former Tayto Park reopens on Saturday.
Emerald Park that’s just outside Ashbourne Co. Meath, will be reopening this Saturday March 25th.
The theme park and zoo has two new junior rides as well as some new arrivals to the zoo including one of the world’s most endangered species of big cat.
The Junior Zone, for children aged 3 or over, has expanded and will now include two brand new rides, Balloon Chase and Crazy Bus.
The zoo has welcomed a number of new animals over recent months including squirrel monkeys and Bira, an endangered Amur tiger and Freya, a critically endangered Amur leopard.
The two stunning sub-species of big cats have come to the zoo as part of the prestigious European wildlife conservation management programme, the EEP.
The zoo-keeping team are delighted to say that the new additions have settled in very well and got straight into the swing of things at Emerald Park.
We are so excited to visit and just in time for summer.

All of the theme park’s favourite rides including Cú Chulainn, Dino Dash and World of Raptors will be ready for guests young and old to enjoy.
The food outlets are back open for the weekend too including a new addition of two Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops. A literal dream.
However, there’s some bad news for the Viking Voyage lovers because that will not re-open this weekend due to ongoing upgrades on the ride.
We hope it’ll be up and running soon though, fingers crossed.
