  • Significant expansion to Heuston to Portlaoise Commuter Sunday services, with eight additional commuter services from Portlaoise to Heuston, and seven from Heuston to Portlaoise, which extends the existing Heuston/Kildare services. There will also be additional stops on a number of Heuston/Cork services at Portlaoise, to connect with these commuter services.
  • Morning peak service each way between Cork and Mallow, operating at 7:20am from Cork to Mallow, and 7:50am from Mallow to Cork.
  • Additional services from Dublin Connolly to Drogheda, leaving at 12:20pm, 1:27pm and 2:20pm Monday through to Friday. There will also be additional services from Drogheda to Dublin leaving at 11:40am and 12:40pm on weekdays.

New train stops:

  • On Sundays, four services from Heuston to Cork and five services from Cork to Heuston will now include a stop at Portlaoise, facilitating connections to the improved Portlaoise Commuter service.
  • The 7:35pm Dublin Heuston to Galway service (Monday to Saturday) and the 6:45pm Dublin Heuston to Galway service (Sunday) will now extend to serve Clara, offering a later final service to Clara.
  • The 6:25am Galway to Dublin Heuston service (Monday to Saturday) will now include a stop at Ballinasloe.

Timetable changes:

  • Kishoge Station is scheduled to open in 2024, with local Heuston and Phoenix Park Tunnel services running at this station. The timetable has been adjusted to accommodate the future opening of Kishoge Station.
  • Recent infrastructure works have led to journey time improvements on numerous Dublin Heuston to Cork and Limerick services.
  • Substantial modifications have been made to Saturday and Sunday DART timetables, enhancing overall performance. These adjustments have also resulted in time changes on other routes to and from Dublin Connolly.
  • Several minor schedule alterations have been implemented to improve punctuality across various services.

1,652 people participated in a public consultation for the proposed new timetable, with most of them seeking more services, later services, earlier services, the addition of new stops to existing services, and an increase in off-peak services.

The journey time for a number of train services have been made faster.
