The weekend got off to a pretty crappy start yesterday when it was announced that President Michael D Higgins’ dog Síoda had passed away.
A well-known furry figure at Áras an Uachtaráin alongside her pal Bród, Síoda’s death has hit the nation hard. Her name has been trending on Twitter for much of the weekend and since news of her passing was confirmed, people have been sharing pics of their own pups, both living and sadly-deceased.
Under the hashtag #nosesforsioda, doggos around the country have been paying respects to their fallen friend by raising their noses in the air and, well, you could actually spend the whole evening scrolling through the results.
