Freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall have led to the closure of a number of Irish schools today.
With a warning in place until Saturday, people are being urged to take care on icy paths and roads as the weather looks set to get worse over the coming days.
RTÉ reporter Ciaran Mullooly has confirmed that a number of schools in the Midlands have closed as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
Freezing temperatures have led to the closure of a small number of schools in the midlands and dangerous road conditions in many areas.

Meanwhile, Gardaí have urged motorists to take care on the roads with dangerous conditions in many places.
