Now we would have popped this is in the “Eat your way through the city” but it deserves its own spot on this list cause it’s that good.
9. Spend a day out on the water
You can do either of these – take the harbour cruise and canal tour or even go rogue and be independent on a kayak but make sure you take to the water so you can get a whole different perspective on the city. 13. Hike to the buried lighthouse
Something unconventional and bizarre but this is like something out of a fairytale. Take a sand-filled (shoes) hike to the abandoned Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse. It’s in Jutland which is about two and a half hours away from Copenhagen but totally worth it.
14. Do the Castles Tour
If you love castles and are seriously feeling the wanderlust while in Copenhagen, take the castles tour. Visit the picturesque region of North Zealand where you’ll see the gorgeous Kronborg Castle (the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet) as well as seeing the Fredensborg Palace and Frederiksborg Castle. It’s a wee bit pricey (about €100 per person) but with transport and entry fees included you’d be mad to try and do this independently of the tour operator.
15. Hang out in Nyhavn
This is the perfect place to end any day. Have a meal in any one of the superb restaurants along the canal and then grab a beer and hang your feet off quayside.
