Darragh Berry

The heat.

Oh, sweet mother of Jaysus, the heat.

Today was the warmest day of the year so far in Ireland and we knew about it. Let’s take a moment to remember those who had to wear a suit in this weather all day today…

Met Éireann has released the maximum temperatures for Friday and the highest temps of the year were recorded today.

If you were in the south of the country in particular, you were overwhelmingly blessed with the sunshine as Cork and Shannon come out on top.

A massive 23.8 degrees was recorded in Moore Park in Cork which is the highest so far this year in Ireland.

The rest of the top temps are as follows:

  • Cork Airport 22.8
  • Shannon Airport 22.8
  • Mullingar 22.5
  • Sherkin Island 22.4
  • Phoenix Park 21.9
  • Athenry 21.5
  • Dublin Airport 21.2
  • Knock Airport 19.5
  • Johnstown Castle 19.8
