Five Irish Restaurants Have Received Prestigious Michelin Guide ‘Bib’ Gourmand Awards

Sarah Finnan

The recipients of the Bib Gourmand Awards have just been announced and five Irish restaurants are amongst the winners this year.

Awarded by Michelin, the Bib Gourmand Awards highlight places that offer “exceptionally good food at moderate prices”.

Restaurants must offer a three-course meal for under €40 to be eligible for the award.

The Irish food scene has never been better and with five newcomers on the list, we’re absolutely spoiled for choice.

This year’s winners include two restaurants in Dublin; Circa in Terenure and Uno Mas in Dublin 2.

The other three winners are Land To Sea in Dingle, Co. Kerry, Thyme in Athlone, Co. Westmeath and Balloo House in Killinchy, Co. Down.

Land To Sea was praised for its use of local ingredients, while Thyme was described as “perpetually popular with the locals” and Balloo House earned its stripes for its “characterful” location.

Michelin handed out 22 new awards this year, bringing the full list to 132.
